Canada: ‘Yes..I leaked Amit Shah’s name’ Canadian minister admits

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison told Parliament members on Tuesday that Amit Shah ordered a campaign of violence, intimidation and intelligence-gathering targeting Sikh separatists in Canada. Tension between India and Canada over the alleged killing of a Khalistani separatist leader continues to escalate amid fresh allegations. Canada alleged on Tuesday that Home Minister Amit Shah was behind plots to target Sikh separatists on Canadian soil.

Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison told the country’s Civil Defense and National Security Committee that a senior Indian government minister had given approval to threaten or kill Canadian citizens.

Conservative MP Raquel Dancho, Vice-Chairperson of the Committee raised questions on civil and national security in Canada on this occasion.

The ‘Civil Defense and National Security Standing Committee’ on Tuesday investigated the interference and criminal activities of Indian agents in Canadian elections.

In that meeting, the committee’s vice-chairperson, Conservative MP Raquel Dancho, questioned the authorities on security in Canada.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, was shot dead near Vancouver in June last year. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of being behind the murder.

Canada’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Nathalia Drouin was asked by Raquel Dancho who informed the Washington Post that the Indian Home Minister was involved in a crime in Canada.

Nathalia said the government does not share such information with journalists.

Amit Shah behind plot to target Sikh separatists

Canadian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister David Morrison testified before Parliament on Tuesday that Amit Shah ordered a campaign of violence, intimidation, and intelligence-gathering against Sikh separatists in Canada.
PTI reports Morrison said he had confirmed the name of Shah to The Washington Post, which broke the story. “The journalist called me and asked if it [Shah] was that person. I confirmed it was that person,” Morrison was quoted by Reuters as telling the committee.

According to a story by The Washington Post newspaper, the Canadian officials claimed Shah is number two in the Narendra Modi government and is linked with a campaign of violence and intimidation targeting Sikh separatists in Canada.
Yet the Canadian official would not provide any information that might confirm Shah’s involvement with the separatists’ campaign. According to the Globe and Mail, this leaked information identified not only Amit Shah but also pointed toward India for shooting Sikh activist Sukhdool Singh Gill at Winnipeg on 20 September, 2023.
